Ruth Eleanor (Chancy) Shipman

Mrs. Ruth E. Shipman passed on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center, Whiteville, NC.  Friends and family will be received at her home, 2266 Jenkins Road, Whiteville, NC 28472.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 1 pm, at Christian Plain AME Zion Church. Reverend Beverly McMillian, officiating.  Eulogist, Reverend Emily Bronson.  Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery, Clarkton, NC.  Viewing will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019, from 2-6 pm and following the church service.  She is survived by two daughters, Phoenix Famutimi and Sarah Shipman-Hayes, one son, Edmond Baldwin Shipman, one brother, Lewis Chancy, two sisters, Gladys Chancy McNeil and Australia Chancy Jones, uncle, Avant McNeil and a special friend, Mr. Lawrence White.
